Yep...so I did this. Kinda want to make my way through all the clonecest prompts now...I love them all so much! ----
Fives was about to lose it. Hardcase had been alternating between jumping jacks and deep lunges right next to his bunk for a good half hour now with no signs of stopping.
Fives sat up abruptly, and turned towards him with a murderous glare. “Can you, for five minutes, relax? Please.”
Hardcase stared back at him apologetically, which was a new look for him. Fives wasn’t sure he liked it, but he couldn’t spare a thought for that right now. They all needed to be on their best game for whatever Krell decided to throw at them next.
“Just wound up over the possibility of us heading out, you know? I can’t just sit and wait,” Hardcase said, completely oblivious to his concerns as he plunged back into his exercises.
Fives brought a hand up to his eyes and sighed. He had to do something or he was going to go crazy. He missed the old days, when Echo was around. He’d never had to worry about calming down before a mission with Echo next to him. Not until after the Citadel.
“Come with me,” he said with a sigh as he hauled himself out of his cot, putting an end to that line of thought.
Hardcase nodded enthusiastically and followed him out of the makeshift barracks. He looked so relieved to be doing something that Fives allowed himself to think he just might be up to what he had in mind. Thinking about Echo had actually given him a good idea for once, and the thought of doing this with Hardcase was less unappealing than he would have thought, now that it was on his mind.
As soon as they turned a corner into the next hallway, Fives grabbed Hardcase by his chest armor and hauled him into a supply closet. The small ceiling light blinked on and gave everything in the room a greenish tint.
“I’ve got an idea to help you unwind before we head out,” Fives said with a grin. “Doesn’t hurt that I’m pretty sure it’ll shut you up in the process.”
When Hardcase looked back at him, Fives could tell that the man had no idea what he was getting at. He sighed again, and considered his angle. He’d felt an affinity towards Hardcase since, well, about five hours ago, when they actually survived the trek through Umbara and a stealth mission that ended in almost killing themselves trying to pilot Umbaran starfighters. Kid definitely had a deathwish, but it was attractive in its way. Reminded him a bit of Echo, in fact, but he didn’t want to dwell on that. He also didn’t want to dwell on the fact that he and Echo used to prepare for and unwind from battle in just the way he was proposing to do for Hardcase now.
He wasn’t...moving on, per se. He couldn’t, not from Echo, ever. But fuck if he didn’t have needs. He knew he was on edge, had been practically begging the Captain to knock him in the jaw all day.
“Look, I don’t know if you’re comfortable, but I thought I’d offer anyway,” Fives said, matter-of-fact. He’d been around Hardcase enough these past few hours to know that he wouldn’t report him to a superior, at least. Like there was a superior to report to, right now. “Some mutual satisfaction before a mission can be, ah, helpful...” His voice petered out as he became less sure of himself. It wasn’t like he propositioned brothers every day, and this wasn’t a promising start for any attempts in the future, either. God, he missed Echo.
Hardcase definitely looked confounded now. “You mean--me, and, and--you--?” He rubbed the back of his neck and shifted nervously.

Step, step, jump, clap. Step, step, jump, clap. Step, step, jump, clap.
