Han is Luke's boyfriend, who everyone on Tatooine assumes Luke made up or is just some guy that Luke's naively projecting fantasies onto. However, they've been together a while, and although Han continues disappearing to do more smuggling (he maybe happened upon the farm when searching for somewhere to stash stuff), he visits when he can but doesn't want to make Luke vulnerable by letting potential gangsters see him with Han. Uncle Owen strongly disapproves of Han, too, so it's tricky.

Cut to ANH after Owen and Beru have been killed and Luke has left for Mos Eisley with Ben and the droids. Han nips to the farm and is HORRIFIED by what he finds. Determined that Luke could still be alive, he searches until he tails Luke and Ben to Mos Eisley. There's an emotional reunion, with Han aggressively questioning this old man he'd suspected kidnapped Luke or something, then once things are settled things follow canon fairly closely.

Want focus on Han's feelings of responsibility; age gap is at least 10 years but could be close to 15, and he loves Luke desperately and doesn't want him involved in all this danger, but Luke is wilful and can easily convince him to do as he does.

Bonus for Luke's friends/classmates from back home who joined the rebellion being shocked that Luke's boyfriend actually exists and is a much older guy.

TLDR: Luke and Han were in a relationship before ANH, although none of the kids on Tatooine actually believed Han existed. Han comes across the destroyed farm after Luke's left, and immediately starts desperately searching for his boyfriend. An emotional reunion follows.

Soooo, I've spent the evening reading a bunch of Kylux fanfic where Kylo is being Kylo, and Hux either ties him up, touches him inappropriately, or implies he needs a good hard dicking to get him to behave. And I suddenly thought, wow, in the real world HR would have Hux's ass on a platter for that.

So maybe there is a HR department on Starkiller Base. And maybe Kylo lodges a formal complaint (or maybe someone else does), but the end result is that Hux is put on probation until he's deemed rehabilitated. Is he forced to watch a bunch of informatory holos from the time before the Empire fell? Or does he have to go to anti-harassment workshops?

Working in the HR department was never El's goal when she was a kid. She'd been dreaming of something else, of fighting for the cause, killing rebels, but they tell her this is important too. It's good for morale. And she apparently had 'special skills' (she's not sure what those are). The order to even have an HR department came from high up, and isn't that ironic, considering who's in front of her. Though of course, higher up doesn't necessarily have to mean the General, but he would have had to approve it at some point, as the highest ranking officer on Starkiller base.

She doesn't enjoy her job, but she doesn't hate it either. Usually. The problem now is, of course, that while her job includes making sure officers keep to the rules laid down to protect troopers, and in that sense General Hux isn't the one in charge of this meeting, the fact remains that, in a very real sense, he's in charge of everything that happens on the base. Including HR.

“General, are you aware of the nature of the charges laid against you?” she asks, and is very proud of herself for keeping her voice steady despite the fact that her pulse is probably somewhere around 150.

“No,” he says, and she was dreading this. The summons contain a shortened version of the charges, and she's not sure if he's just not read them or if he wants to make this difficult.

“Well, sir, in chronological order: five weeks ago you allegedly told Lord Ren that he would, and I quote, 'benefit from a long, hard fuck'.” She's sure her blush is strong enough to be seen even though her skin color usually covers it up. Her cheeks are certainly warm enough. General Hux, meanwhile, hasn't moved a muscle.

“Four weeks ago you said something similar, and also threatened to tie him up, something Lord Ren has claimed made him worried that you may make similar threats to people who can't defend themselves. Sir.”

“This is ridiculous,” Hux says, and there's a hint of color on his cheeks (of course, he has the kind of complexion that shows everything. Seems impractical.)

“These are the charges, General, sir. There's a procedure to follow,” she says, because she has to, because this is her job, because these are serious charges laid against him, and also, it's her goddamn job which she has hated fiercely ever since Lord Ren stepped into her office and said he had a complaint to make.

“Summarize,” he orders.

“Three more occasions of threatening to tie him up, five more of suggesting he should engage in sexual relations, and two days ago, you allegedly pushed him against a wall and bit him. Sir, I have to inform you that as per our standard operating procedure for allegations of this nature we have reviewed relevant security recordings and enough of the charges Lord Ren have laid against you can be verified that way, so that means that, um, sir, per operating procedure, you have to participate in our program to prevent sexual harassment, sir. The program includes viewing of holos detailing our code of conduct, workshops and mandatory sessions with a psychologist who has to deem you rehabilitated before you are officially finished with the program.”

The look on the General's face is one she will probably see in her nightmares for the next year. She braces herself for something, she doesn't know what, a punch maybe? Being fired? Being shot where she stands?

“I see,” the General says. “I suppose the fact that Lord Ren is not formally part of the running of this base, that he is something of a visitor, will not change anything?”

“Sis, standard operating procedure,sir,” she squeaks.

“And the fact that I'm right?” he says.

“Sorry, sir?” she says, and the shock gives her voice a bit more strength.

“Never mind,” he says. He doesn't look furious anymore, but the blankness of his face is not actually very comforting. “Send the details to my secretary.”

He turns and leaves, and as soon as the door closes she collapses enough to sink out of her chair and onto the floor. She doesn't have any more meetings today, so she can indulge in a brief panic attack.

She's going to need so much booze on the weekly department drinking therapy (not her idea for a name, but it fits). And then she finds the silver lining on this particularly large and horrible cloud: no one is going to beat her story in the 'worst meeting of the week' competition, and this means she will not have to pay herself for the amount of alcohol she will need to forget this entire thing.

A/N: Is Kylo messing with Hux? Does he have a deep personal dislike of sexual harassment and feels it his duty to alert HR to this shocking misconduct? Was he the one insisting on an HR department? Was it because this has happened before? Will El get alcohol poisoning? We shall never know (unless someone else wants to write it, that'd be awesome)

When Luke's parentage comes into play, although there is the serious risk of Vader killing Han for essentially keeping Luke, Luke begs Vader not to hurt him, and Vader decides that the three of them might well be able to destroy the Emperor sooner rather than later.

The familiar roaring noise was dying down gently as Aunt Beru smoothed Luke’s tunic out over his shoulders gently, her lips pressed together tightly.

The two shared a look, a small nod, and then together they walked outside, Beru in front, followed by Luke. The ramp lowered and four Stormtroopers marched down it, two breaking off to approach their little hut and stand either side of the door, while the other two separated from each other to guard each side of the ship.

Then, a pair of shiny black boots descended upon the ramp, the man wearing them coming into clear view.

Luke’s breath hitched. Rumours of General Solo had managed to reach even their little farm. None of the stories, as murky as they were, had mentioned his handsome face, his charm or raw appeal. Then again, perhaps those things were obvious only to Luke, perhaps the only person in the galaxy permitted to call him by his first name. And, as they were to be married, it only made sense.

“Hey, kid,” he said, resting his thumb so gently against Luke’s chin as his fingers stroked his jaw.

“Han,” said Luke, smiling. He felt relieved, although he wasn’t certain what he’d been afraid of.

“You ready?”

“Uh-huh.”

Han grinned, and Luke felt so pleased to see him smile, and to know that he was the cause of Han’s happiness.

“Owen and Beru,” said Han, tearing his gaze from Luke. “I’ll take care of your nephew, you have my word.” His voice was back to its formal, trained inflection.

“We wish you both great happiness,” said Beru, reaching out for Luke, who embraced her gladly.

“We’ll have to get going; orders from above and beyond.”

Luke was eager to leave Tatooine. In fact, he was almost desperate. But he would miss his Aunt and Uncle, however unexciting living on the farm had been. They’d still raised him, and loved him. He had no idea when he would next see them. People rarely came by Tatooine for fleeting visits, as Luke knew all too well. Han had installed a brand new communicator in their home, vastly superior to the old one that had barely reached further than Mos Eisley in its range.

As Luke pulled away from Beru, he turned to his uncle. Uncle Owen made no declarations, and merely drew Luke into a one-armed, brief, but firm, hug. He had never been the most cheerful of men, and he’d been edgy ever since Han came into their lives. No doubt he would be as relieved to see the back of him, as he was reluctant to let Luke go. Luke couldn’t find it in himself to resent him for any of it. He’d never wanted Luke to feel trapped here, he’d just hoped, as all farmers did, that the next generation would show the same interest in maintaining their property. But he and Aunt Beru would be well cared for now. Luke was leaving them his speeder. Han was giving them some money, and he’d promised Luke he could do so himself when he found his own position aboard the Defeater.

“Goodbye,” said Luke, taking the small cloth-bag Beru handed him. “If you need anything – ” He stopped. His aunt and uncle just nodded at him, and then Han put an arm around him, and he gave them one last smile before he was led away.

He and Han boarded the ramp of the Imperial Standard vessel waiting for them. It was cool, almost cold inside and Luke shivered as Han gestured for him to sit. The four Stormtroopers came marching up the ramp behind them, which then raised smoothly. All noise of Tatooine; the wind and the farm's turbines, ceased suddenly.

They're both wearing civilian clothes and being generally low key so people don't recognize them. Unfortunately, the cafe they're at gets held up. Both of them React Very Poorly. Later, Obi-Wan will feel terrible for his very unJedi-like behavior, Anakin will mourn the fate of his waffles, and Ahsoka will be miffed that they hadn't invited her.
